VOLUNTEER COACHES INFORMATION
All coaches must be certified by Diocesan policy:
Completion of VIRTUS awareness session. This is a 3 hr training course. Please see website(www.virtus.org) for information on clinic schedules. This site changes as clinics are added to the schedule.
Criminal background check in accordance with Diocesan policy. Currently, this is done with fingerprinting through IdentoGo. Must be taken every 4 years. Fee of approximately $25. You will need to bring a form with you to your appointment. This form will be with coaches application.
CPR certified and knowledge in the use of an AED
Completion of Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y clinic. 3 hr training clinic that only needs to be taken once. Please see their website(www.youth sports rutgers.edu) for information on clinic schedules. This site is continuously changes as clinics are added to the schedule.
Completion of online concussion course(www.cdc.gov/concussion/headsup/online.training.html). It takes approximately 40-45 minutes to complete. Please print the certificate of completion at the conclusion of the course & attach with application.
Carry at all times- Bag containing binder, yellow emergency cards, first aid kit, DEFIBRILLATOR
Code of coaches, players, parents and spectators
Volunteer Application/Code of Conduct-Must be filled out, signed & submitted with all other paperwork.
Once the necessary certifications are complete and forms submitted your information will be reviewed & you will be notified of the decision as soon as possible
